Selwyn Birchwood is stopping by the brewery on Saturday, July 20th to take part in the Get Out. Explore. Bring Beer & Music. Concert Series.
This is a FREE show and music kicks off at 6pm.
With his fiery guitar and lap steel playing, his trailblazing, instantly memorable songs and gritty, unvarnished vocals, Selwyn Birchwood is among the most extraordinary young stars in the blues. His deep familiarity with blues tradition allows him to bust the genre wide open, adding new sounds, colors and textures, all delivered with a revival tent preacher’s fervor and a natural storyteller’s charisma. Since the 2014 release of his Alligator Records debut, Don’t Call No Ambulance, Birchwood’s meteoric rise from playing small Florida clubs to headlining international festival stages is nothing short of phenomenal, as he continues to set the contemporary blues world on fire. The album received the Blues Music Award and Living Blues Critics’ Award for Best Debut Album Of 2014, and he won the 2015 Blues Blast Rising Star Award. Selwyn and his band have crisscrossed the U.S. and Europe repeatedly, delivering unforgettable live performances. With his new album, Pick Your Poison, Birchwood, along with his band—saxophonist Regi Oliver, bassist Huff Wright and drummer Courtney “Big Love” Girlie—takes a major step forward, crafting visionary blues for a new generation of forward-looking fans.
Get a taste of West Virginia Craft Beer with Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company's mix of great beers including Devil Anse IPA, Ole Ran'l Pilsner, Zona's Revenge Witber & more at Stone Tower Brews - Buckhannon Thursday July 25th.
Join us at Pipestem Resort State Park Headquarters on Saturday July 27th as we release Green Bank Fruited Gose, our newest seasonal release. This special release party is part of the Art in the Park event.
This Fruited Gose style beer is made with Hallertau Hops with German Pilsner Malt and Unmalted Wheat giving it a tart, fruity, and refreshing taste. Slightly salty finish accompanies a berry aroma. A simple malt profile accentuates the berries and sourness.
The origin of this brew is from the town of Green Bank, West Virginia which is void of all cellular service and Wi-Fi. Green Bank’s inhabitants make this sacrifice so that a giant 485-foot tall radio telescope can observe outer space 13 billion light years away. In honor of the Green Bank Radio Telescope we brewed the Green Bank Fruited Gose with salt from JQ Dickinson Salt-Works, blackberries and black raspberries from T.L. Fruits and Vegetables in Caldwell, West Virginia, and unmalted wheat from Simmon’s Farms in Hillsboro, West Virginia.
Join Rock Violinist Adam DeGraff for a performance at the Historic Bluefield Arts Center in downtown Bluefield. This dinner and show, sponsored by the Greenbrier Brewing Company, will feature a main dish, vegetable sides, dessert and drinks. Craft beer by the Greenbrier Brewing Company will be available for purchase as well.
DeGraff has mastered the art of blending the violin and rock music. An American Violinist, composer, producer, and educator, he spent part of his career as a first-chair professional orchestral musician. Since then, he has experimented with rock violin, live lopping, alternative music and more.

Justin Wells is bringing his outlaw country Americana tunes by the brewery Saturday, August 24th. This is a FREE show and music kicks off at 6pm as part of our Get Out. Explore. Bring Beer & Music. Concert Series.
A roots-rock songwriter with a rough-and-tumble rasp of a voice, Justin Wells’ music shines a light on the highs and lows of a life spent on the road. For years, the Kentuckian shared that road with his bandmates in Fifth on the Floor. The guys were southern rock underdogs, and they climbed their way toward success on their own terms, earning a cult following and a Billboard chart placement for their album Ashes & Angels along the way. Their songs drifted back and forth across the line between brash and broken, carried by loud guitars and louder sentiment. However, the band abruptly parted ways in early 2015.
The dismantling of the band fueled the writing on Wells’ first solo record, the critically-acclaimed Dawn in the Distance. On it, his voice is still mountain-sized, while looking beyond the Southern stomp of his former band. Produced by Duane Lundy (Ringo Starr, Sturgill Simpson’s Sunday Valley, Joe Pug), the album is Wells’ most affecting to date. Songs like “The Dogs” and “The Highway Less Taken” catch the singer staring in the mirror, while “Going Down Grinnin” and “Still No Rain” move like a drifter, unwilling to quit.

Awesome Live Music
11-12 - Among the Willows Music
12:30-2 - Hard Swimmin' Fish
2:30-4 - John R Miller & the Engine Lights
4:30-6 - The Mike Dillon Band
Among the Willows Music
In a world industry that is increasingly homogeneous, it takes an artist bold enough to run from the norm, towards the fringes to remind us how powerful music can really be. Hailing from the Mid-Atlantic region and currently based in Nashville, Among The Willows is steadily living up to their namesake, hiding from the ever prevalent cookie-cutter mindset that is currently dominating radio.
Hard Swimmin' Fish
Hard Swimmin' Fish is an ensemble deeply rooted in the traditions of American music. Our down home roots sound pilfers from the best that early American music has to offer including blues, jazz, funk and swing, and churn it all up into a spicy brew that is familiar yet uniquely our own.
John R Miller & the Engine Lights
John R. Miller grew up in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia, where the mountains meet Interstate 81. A co-founding member and songwriter for well-traveled bands The Fox Hunt and Prison Book Club, he has performed his songs across the US, Canada, Ireland, the UK, Japan, and Europe. He has made several appearances on NPR’s Mountain Stage with Larry Groce, has been a featured songwriter and performer on the Travelin' Appalachians Revue, and his song “Coming Down” was performed by Kentucky artist Tyler Childers on his album Live at Red Barn I & II. He quietly self-released a solo album Service Engine in 2014, and his most recent full-band effort, The Trouble You Follow, was released in 2018 via Lexington, KY’s Emperor Records.
The Mike Dillon Band
How many artists have been praised a “punk rock provocateur,” “jazz vibraphone visionary,” and “percussion virtuoso” in the same sentence? There’s only one: Mike Dillon. Whether through his affiliation with artists like Les Claypool, Primus, Rickie Lee Jones, and Ani Difranco, or collaborations such as Nolatet, Garage a Trois, The Dead Kenny G's, Critters Buggin or bands he has led, including Mike Dillon Band, Mike Dillon's New Orleans Punk Rock Percussion Consortium, Billy Goat and Hairy Apes BMX, the Texas-native has set his own standard for 25 years now.
